Enterprise Platform Documentation
Whipline Enterprise · Employers and Training Providers · October 2026
Whipline Enterprise combines online training, class administration and business tools in a platform branded for your organization. Deliver your curriculum, manage your people and follow their progress from enrollment through completion.
1. Whipline Enterprise
A Training Platform Built Around Your Organization
Whipline Enterprise gives employers and training providers a branded platform for delivering courses, managing people, running classes and maintaining training records. Your staff work from a central Enterprise Portal, while employees and students use a website carrying your organization’s name, logo and visual identity.
Bring curriculum, registration, attendance, learner progress and certification tracking into one connected system. Use Whipline Crane Academy course copies, develop your own training, or combine both to suit the people you teach.
For Employers
Coordinate employee onboarding, assign required training and monitor progress across your workforce. Create lessons for company procedures, site requirements and equipment, then assign them to individuals or the entire organization. Certification reminders help managers plan renewals before credentials expire.
For Training Providers
Manage the work surrounding each class: scheduling, instructors, proctors, registration, rosters, attendance and training access. Provide students with online coursework and practice tools, and give instructors access to progress reports that help them focus classroom time on the topics students need.
One Place to Manage Training
The Enterprise Portal organizes training, administration and organization settings into role-based menus. Staff see the tools relevant to their responsibilities. Standard, Compact and Ultra-Dense display options accommodate different screen sizes and preferences for working with detailed records.
2. Your Brand and Your Website
A Branded Learning Experience
Present training under your organization’s name, logo, colors and typography. Learners enter through your organization’s sign-in page and continue through a website with consistent navigation and styling. A custom web address can make the platform part of your existing online presence, such as training.yourcompany.com.
Website Templates and Theme Controls
Choose from six templates: Plain, Blueprint and Frost, Deep Shadows, Industrial, Industrial Framed, and Dust and Sunbeams. Use the template as a starting point, then adjust colors, fonts and page presentation to reflect your brand.
Theme controls include ready-made palettes, palettes generated from a logo or image, up to twelve saved palettes and six uploaded fonts. Set the starting light or dark appearance and choose whether visitors can switch between them. Template changes preserve website content and manual settings.
Public and Member Pages
Create public information pages for visitors and signed-in pages for your learners. Arrange website navigation around your organization’s content and decide which pages each audience sees. Built-in pages provide core functions, while custom pages give you room for additional information, resources and services.
Full Platform Rebranding
Present Whipline Enterprise as an extension of your organization with a complete rebranding package. The service includes custom domain configuration, branded communications and setup assistance, along with replacement or removal of the platform attribution. Your learners receive a consistent experience across your training website and organization communications.
3. Visual Website Editing
Developer Mode
Developer Mode is the visual website editor for Managers and Content Developers. Build pages from blocks, move content by dragging, and adjust text, layout, spacing, backgrounds, borders and alignment through the editing panel. No page coding is required for these editing controls.
Use sections and columns to organize information, then add the content and functional blocks needed for each page. Dashboard, Training, Course and Results layouts can be customized on the organization website. The Course layout provides a consistent presentation across your courses.
Drafts, Preview and Publishing
Edit a draft while learners continue to use the published website. Changes save automatically, and the editor shows their save status. Multiple authorized staff can contribute to the shared draft and see who else is editing.
Preview pages on desktop, tablet and phone layouts, in light and dark appearances, and as a Visitor, New Trainee or Sample Trainee. Publish from Preview when the website is ready. Publishing applies the draft to the live website as a complete update.
Saved Versions
Four saved draft versions and two published versions provide recovery points as the website develops. Restore an earlier version to the draft, review it and publish when ready. This supports design revisions, seasonal changes and recovery from unwanted edits.
Video and Downloadable Resources
Add Video and Document Download blocks to provide demonstrations, reference material, forms and course resources. Documents and videos follow the audience settings of their published use, allowing visitor resources and member resources within the same website. Images and uploaded fonts serve as public website assets.
Staff Contact Cards
Introduce instructors and other staff with Contact Cards containing names and job titles. Staff members choose whether their email addresses and work phone numbers appear to signed-in users. Use these cards to help learners identify the right person to contact.
4. Curriculum and Course Development
Your Courses, Academy Courses, or Both
Build a training catalog that fits your organization. Create your own courses or add copies of published Whipline Crane Academy courses, then review and publish them for your learners. Imported courses belong to your organization’s catalog and can be adapted for your training program.
Course and Assessment Authoring
Organize courses into modules and lessons, develop questions and exams, and establish the course structure learners will follow. Keep instruction and assessment together so staff can develop a complete program rather than distribute separate documents and tests.
Curriculum tools manage what you teach. The website editor controls how your training pages are presented. This separation allows staff to revise a course without redesigning the website, or update the website without replacing the course material.
Academy Course Updates
Course copies retain a connection to their Academy source. Unmodified copies are checked for source updates on a seven-day schedule through the daily maintenance process. Copies your staff have modified retain those changes and are excluded from automatic synchronization.
Staff can choose Resync to the Academy’s Version to replace local changes with the current source content. Progress is retained for lessons and exams that remain matched to their source. Academy question-bank items used in copied exams remain centrally maintained; organizations can change their exam selection or add their own questions.
Company Lessons
Create focused lessons for company policies, site procedures, equipment instructions or other internal requirements. A live preview helps staff review the material as they prepare it. Company lessons are useful for information that needs to reach employees quickly without becoming a full course.
Curriculum Implementation Services
Organizations can develop content themselves or request a quote for Whipline to implement their courses, lessons, questions and exams. A confidentiality agreement can be arranged before proprietary material is supplied.
5. Training Assignments and Learner Progress
Individual and Organization-Wide Assignments
Assign a course or company lesson to one person or the entire organization. Add a due date and an explanatory note so learners know what to complete and when. Assignments appear on the learner dashboard, bringing required work into their normal training experience.
Progress and Readiness Reports
Review study activity, practice exam history, readiness estimates, estimated ready dates and weak topics. Instructors can use these reports to identify learners who need additional help and select topics for review. Employers can use them to follow required training across a workforce.
Spreadsheet export supports additional reporting and internal recordkeeping. The weekly manager summary brings together study activity, outstanding training and approaching certification expirations.
Learner Results
Learners can review completed exams and drills through Results. Their dashboard and course pages show progress and available training, helping them return to unfinished work and understand what comes next.
6. Optional Learning and Practice Tools
Practice and Reference Tools
Drills provide short, timed practice tests from the question bank. The Exam Simulator provides full-length timed practice evaluations. Flashcards support terminology review, while the Knowledge Base provides guides and reference information. Together, these tools support different study needs, from a brief review to a longer practice session.
Engagement and Community Features
Achievements recognize study activity, and Leaderboards display comparative scores. Optional Forums, Public Profiles, Instructor Support and Find Crane Training connect learners with the corresponding Academy services. Tools includes credential-tracking resources.
Choose the Features Your Learners Use
Optional Academy features begin disabled so organizations can select the experience they want to provide. Enable the relevant tools or keep the platform focused on your own training. Academy-dependent tools are unavailable under the own-curriculum-only setting.
7. Class Scheduling and Registration
Training Calendar
Schedule classes with their instructors, proctors and associated training products or packages. The calendar gives staff a central view of upcoming delivery and the people responsible for each class.
Products and Packages
Organize the training you offer into products and packages for use in class scheduling and enrollment. This helps providers represent their offerings consistently when preparing classes and maintaining registration records.
Configurable Class Rosters
Each class includes a spreadsheet-style roster with configurable columns and available crane-certification presets. Keep student information, billing details and invoice tracking alongside the class record. Enter prospective students before creating their platform accounts, then register them when ready.
Online Registration and Waitlists
Open selected classes for public registration on your organization’s website, or share an expiring private registration link with a specific audience. Registrations feed directly into the class roster. When a class reaches capacity, a waitlist captures additional interest.
Online registration is optional. Organizations can continue adding students directly when enrollment is handled by office staff or an employer.
Attendance and Sign-In Sheets
Record Present, Late, Absent or Excused for each student on each class day. Attendance summaries show participation across the class, and printable daily sign-in sheets support in-person attendance records. Assigned proctors can access the rosters for their classes.
8. Certification Tracking
Centralized Credential Records
Maintain operator certification details and expiration dates in one place. Managers can review upcoming renewals alongside training activity, making it easier to plan refresher instruction and keep employee records organized.
Expiration Reminders
Reminders are scheduled at 12, 9, 6, 3, 2 and 1 months before a certification expires, for the relevant managers and employee. These intervals give organizations time to arrange training and renewal activities before the expiration date.
9. Account Management and Staff Roles
Flexible Account Registration
Invite people by email or create their organization accounts directly. Generated student logins based on name and date of birth support registration without an email address. Where enabled, students can create their own accounts before enrollment.
Roles That Match Your Team
Managers oversee the organization, including people, seats, billing and settings. Instructors review learner progress, assign training, develop curriculum and manage classes. Content Developers prepare curriculum, products, packages and company lessons, and manage branding and website editing.
Administrative Staff manage scheduling, rosters and trainee registration, with timesheet and payroll access when enabled. Proctors work with their assigned class rosters. Staff roles do not consume trainee seats; trainee seats provide access to learner course content.
Access Controls
Choose permitted device categories and access hours to match the way your organization delivers training. Accounts use a single active sign-in session. Role permissions and feature settings control which tools a person can use.
Blocking and Reinstatement
Block a person’s organization access while retaining their account and historical records. Reinstate access when appropriate, subject to their training entitlement and the organization’s service status. Blocking an account does not cancel its seat or change seat billing.
Staff Directory
Keep staff names, roles, job titles and work contact details together. The directory helps employees identify colleagues and gives staff control over the contact details used in learner-facing Contact Cards.
10. Staff and Business Administration
Time Clock and Timesheets
Optional time tracking lets staff clock in and out from the page header. Timesheets organize entries by pay period, and authorized Managers and Administrative Staff can review and correct entries. Recorded changes provide a history of adjustments.
Expense Management
Staff can submit work-related expenses for approval. Record organization operating costs alongside employee expenses and download the combined ledger for further review or bookkeeping.
Payroll Records and Pay Stubs
Create pay stubs from manually entered earnings and deduction lines. Whipline totals the amounts supplied by staff; tax and deduction calculations remain part of your payroll process. Stubs use your organization’s identity, remain searchable by employee and are available through the employee’s account.
Equipment and Inspections
Maintain crane and rigging records, document inspections and findings, and review failed items and upcoming periodic inspections. These tools keep equipment administration available alongside workforce training.
Audit and Seat History
Managers can review the organization’s audit log to follow recorded administrative changes. Each seat also has a permanent identifier, occupancy history and event record. Ended seat records have a seven-year retention period, supporting later review of training access and occupancy.
11. Seats and Training Access
A Seat for Each Trainee
A seat represents a place for one trainee to access training. Open seats can be held for upcoming registrations; eligible trainees take an available seat as they are registered. Staff accounts are managed separately and do not use trainee seats.
Subscription and One-Time Access
Subscription seats support ongoing workforce or student access. Training providers can also use the configured one-time arrangement for 30-day access. Class completion and the organization’s post-class access setting determine how training continues after a class.
Seat Allocation and Billing
Both open and occupied subscription seats count toward billing. Subscription seats have an initial 30-day commitment starting when the seat enters the subscription. After that period, a manager can release an occupant for reassignment or end an eligible open seat. Releasing an occupant alone leaves the seat available and billable.
Trial Access
The seven-day introductory trial includes five free seats by default. Trial seats end when the trial expires or the setup payment is recorded. Learners continuing into paid service receive paid seat assignments, while their trial-seat history remains on record.
12. Pricing and Service Options
Pricing Plans
Training Provider Essentials (made for individuals and small businesses): $650 Activation Fee, $100 per month. Pooled Seats up to 5 Seats, or Pay As You Go. Employer Workforce (made for employers to train their employees): $1,000 Activation Fee, $200 per month. Pay As You Go only. Training Provider Executive (made for medium to large training providers; the most cost-effective plan): $2,000 Activation Fee, $300 per month. Pooled Seats with no set limit on Seats and volume discounts, or Pay As You Go.
Your organization's first manager chooses the plan during organization setup. The full plan rules, Pooled Seats requirements and a monthly cost comparison are in the Pricing Documentation at /enterprise/pricing.
Setup and Trial
A seven-day introductory trial with five free trainee seats can be chosen with the plan. It begins with a non-refundable deposit: $150 for Essentials, $300 for Workforce and $500 for Executive. The deposit counts toward the plan's Activation Fee. Trial seats end when the trial ends.
Seat Pricing and Batch Discounts
1–10 Seats: $50 per seat per month. 11–25 Seats: $45 per seat per month. 26–50 Seats: $40 per seat per month. 51+ Seats: $35 per seat per month.
The total seat count determines the rate for every seat. The first month's monthly fee is covered by the Activation Fee; Seats are billed separately. Pooled Seats are licenses to use Seats, purchased in batches of 5 once per billing period and priced by Batch Discount tiers; Pay As You Go Seats are charged at the flat $50 rate with no Batch Discount. If every Pooled Seat is occupied, extra PAYG Seats may be purchased as a last resort at the flat $50 rate; they end with the billing cycle and are each recorded as a Seat Capacity Failure.
Optional Services
Custom Website Layouts & Designs: $250–$500 one-time, depending on how extensive it is.
Full Site Branding, Domain Authorization, Communications, and Setup: $2,500 one-time. Removes our branding, configures your own web address and branded communications, and sets it all up for you. Installment arrangements are available.
Custom Curriculum Implementation: quoted according to the requested work.
These figures describe the current pricing schedule. Your final quote and invoice confirm the agreed services and charges.
13. Support and Getting Started
Organizational Support
Enterprise organizations receive priority support, including direct phone contacts for platform issues. Instructor development guides help staff prepare to teach with the platform. Organizations remain responsible for delivering and supporting their own employee or student training.
Application and Setup
Apply at whiplinecraneacademy.com/enterprise/apply with your organization details, expected number of users, contact email and phone number. Whipline verifies the application and discusses your training requirements, service options and final quote.
During setup, establish your branding, staff roles and training access. Prepare curriculum and classes, preview your organization website and publish when ready. The trial provides an opportunity to evaluate the platform with your own team before moving into paid service.
14. Features in Development
Expanded Website Customization
Further visual editing is planned for lesson pages, Drills, the Exam Simulator, Achievements, exam briefings and individual results, company lessons, and public class pages. These additions will extend the page-building controls already available for Dashboard, Training, Course and Results. Existing learning screens use the organization’s published website frame while further page layouts are developed.
Assessment Question-Bank Selection
The development plan includes question-bank selection within assessment blocks, giving organizations additional control over the sources used for practice and assessment. This capability and the expanded layouts above are in development rather than part of the completed editor feature set.
